Antipodigital is a word I created from the original word 'antipodes'.
Word Origin and History for antipodes
late 14c., "persons who dwell on the opposite side of the globe;" 1540s as"place on the opposite side of the earth," from Latin antipodes "those whodwell on the opposite side of the earth," from Greek antipodes, plural ofantipous "with feet opposite (ours)," from anti- "opposite" (see anti- ) + pous "foot" (see foot (n.)); thus, people who live on the opposite side ofthe world.
I liked this notion that we, in the southern hemisphere, have our feet opposite to people living in the northern hemisphere.
I think that to produce digital art may be diametrically opposed to analogue art. This led me to append the word 'digital' to the original Latin 'anti' - and I included the letters 'po' for musicality.
I'm a digital publisher, content entrepreneur and digital sketcher. I started drawing in July 2016 on a visit to Belgrade and Montenegro. I sketched what I saw and loved it. This late career change led to my starting Planepack, a site where I provide advice and tips for people wanting to travel light. I used my own drawings to illustrate the posts.
I produce digital content, drawing on my iPad using my Apple Pencil and the 53 Paper and Procreate apps.
My friends and family reacted positively to these drawings which is why I've made them available for sale in a range of products: gift cards, art prints, gift wrap, even cushions and other soft furnishings.
